FINNED TUBES
Longitudinal (LFT) and helical (WHF) finned equipment is made for heating high-viscosity products.
Construction uses carbon steel, low alloy steels, stainless steels, or high nickel alloys, with fins welded directly to the tube or pipe and sized to process needs.
Finned equipment works best for heating high-viscosity, thermally insulating fluids with steam. High-flow tempered water or thermal oil is less effective but still viable.

SCRAPED SURFACE HEAT EXCHANGERS
This double-pipe design is used for cooling crystallization and viscous liquids. Heat passes through the inner pipe wall while coolant flows through the annulus.
Inner pipes run from 6-inch to 12-inch NPS, outer pipes up to 16-inch NPS, and commercial units chain several 20 to 50 ft elements in series.
