Pipe safety shields, also called flange guards, are used across many industries to stop harmful spray-outs and mist from failing pipe joints carrying toxic, corrosive, or dangerous liquids.
Safety or spray shields are a last line of defence. They don't contain a leak indefinitely, but they prevent spray-outs that could cause fire, explosion, downtime, or loss of life.
SUREBAND – STEEL SHIELDS
The SUREBAND Steel Shield is built from high-quality materials and outperformed all other shield types and materials in in-house pressure testing.
Its multi-layered internal steel mesh diffuses pressure releases to reduce dangerous spray or mist. Low-quality copies without proper mesh layers or testing should be avoided.
Made from 316 stainless steel, it suits steam, fuel oil, lube oil, diesel, and more. Every design is hydrostatically pressure tested, and certificates are available on request.

SUREBAND Clear Shields
Made entirely from PTFE materials with no fibreglass, using a clear ECTFE outer and a multi-layered PTFE mesh inner for strong chemical resistance.
Its PDT pressure diffusion mesh releases pressure so liquid drops vertically, removing spray and mist hazards.
Industrialised, strengthened Velcro allows quick fitting and removal. A replaceable litmus patch gives immediate visual leak indication for acid and alkali applications.
Teflon (PTFE) Shields
Built from three layers of Teflon-coated woven fibreglass fabric with a central Teflon scrim for strength.
Inherently resistant to UV radiation and well suited to concentrated acid and caustic duty, as well as fuel and lube oil.

Clear Teflon (ECTFE) Shields
Consists of a central section of clear Teflon with side sections of Teflon-coated fibreglass. It resists UV radiation and allows visual inspection of the flange joint.
Suited to concentrated acid and caustic duty, as well as fuel and lube oil. All designs are hydrostatically tested, with certificates available on request.

PVC Shields
Made from two layers of PVC laminate, with a litmus leak indicator patch in a clear window so leaks are visible.
A Velcro strip and braided PVC draw string pull the fabric over the flange bolts to the pipe wall, preventing lateral spray. Leaks release safely without pressure build-up inside the shield.
